Â鶹´«Ã½AV Partners with March Mayhem Fire Conference, First Steps for Future Meridian Development

March 12, 2026

A LIVE FIRE EXERCISE WILL BE CONDUCTED ON FRIDAY, MARCH 13, 2026 AT 785 S. LOCUST GROVE BEGINNING AT 8 AM.

Â鶹´«Ã½AV is taking the first operational steps toward the future development of its Locust Grove property in Meridian through a unique community safety initiative.

ISU has donated an existing unoccupied structure located at 785 S Locust Grove to the March Mayhem Fire Conference, providing regional first responders with a rare and invaluable opportunity to conduct live training exercises.

Beyond supporting local emergency readiness, this live training event serves as the functional kickoff for the property’s redevelopment. Clearing the site is the essential first step in pursuing a Planned Unit Development (PUD) that will expand the university's footprint in the Treasure Valley.

The March Mayhem Fire Conference is a premier, multi-day training event that brings together fire service professionals for intensive, hands-on instruction. By utilizing the acquired structure provided by ISU, firefighters and fire ground leaders are able to practice real-world, life-saving techniques—including search and rescue, thermal imaging, and live-fire scenarios—in a controlled environment.

This vital training is the result of a highly collaborative effort between the March Mayhem group, ISU, and the City of Meridian.Following the conclusion of the fire training exercises and the clearing of the site, ISU will continue advancing its long-term vision for the property. The university is currently working in close partnership with the City of Meridian and Hummel Architects to design and plan the site's future. The removal of the existing structure paves the way for a dynamic development that will align with both the university's strategic goals and the city's growth.
