Undergraduate and Graduate Travel - Individual Funding

The Associated Students of Â鶹´«Ã½AV offers travel funding opportunities to support students attending and presenting at academic and professional conferences. This funding is intended to help students pursue educational opportunities, expand their professional networks, and gain valuable experiences beyond the classroom.

How to Apply:

Students interested in applying for travel funding must submit a request through the Suitable app. Log in using your ISU email credentials, locate the ASISU Travel Funding Request Form, and complete the application with the required information.

Students are encouraged to submit their requests well in advance of their anticipated travel dates to allow sufficient time for review and consideration.

Benny's Funding

ASISU provides Benny's Funding to support club events and activities open to the entire student body.

Funding Limits:

  • Individual Club Events: Up to $2,000 per event, with a maximum of $4,000 per academic year.
  • Multi-Club Events: Up to $3,000 per event. Costs are divided among the participating clubs for tracking toward their academic year total.

Processing Timeline:

  • After submission, requests take a minimum of 5 weeks to process. If an event occurs within this timeframe, funds cannot be guaranteed, and ASISU will not reimburse for past events.

Application Submission:

  • To be reviewed at the next Finance Committee meeting, applications must be submitted by Thursday at 5:00 PM. A representative from your organization should attend ASISU meetings related to your funding request to address questions about eligibility and stay updated on your application status.

Meeting Schedule:

  • ASISU meets every Wednesday during the semester (excluding finals and breaks). Finance Committee meetings are from 5:45-6:30 PM and Senate meetings are from 7:00-8:00 PM in the Shirley Sargent Boardroom, Pond Student Union Building.

The C.E.A.S.A.R. "Club Efforts Are Supplemented and Rewarded" Funding System consists of four components:

  1. Initial Deposits:

    • Request Form: Clubs can apply each spring semester for up to $500 (depending on ASISU Senate approval) to be used in the following academic year.
  2. Matched Deposits:

    • Clubs can apply for matching funds on their deposits at any time during the year. The matching ratio is typically $1 for every $3 deposited, subject to availability and ASISU Senate approval. Note that matched deposits cannot be used for Greek life dues.
  3. New Club Funding:

    • Newly organized clubs (after the Initial Deposit deadline of the previous year) that have never applied for an Initial Deposit can apply for up to $500 (depending on ASISU Senate approval). Applications can be submitted anytime until the current academic year’s Initial Deposit deadline.
  4. Incentive Points:

      • Clubs can earn funds based on attendance to events affiliated with ISU as well as volunteer service hours. The amount awarded varies between Fall and Spring semesters, based on total incentive points requested by all fee-paying clubs. A separate request form is required for each event. Events that qualify for incentive points can be found in the "Incentive Points Requirements" document link below.
        • One person counts for one club per event.
