Sean McBride, Ph.D., CISSP
Industrial Cybersecurity Engineering Technology Clinical Sr. Instructor
Dr. McBride joined ISU in 2017 as the Industrial Cybersecurity Engineering Technology Program Coordinator. He guided the program to ABET accreditation and CAE Designation.
Before joining ISU, McBride worked as a threat intelligence analyst specializing in critical infrastructure and industrial control systems for FireEye/Mandiant, iSIGHT Partners, Critical Intelligence, and the Idaho National Laboratory.
McBride has been awarded nearly $5 Million in grant funding. His projects focus on cybersecurity education and critical infrastructure defense. He serves as the Director of ISU's Informatics Research Institute where he prepares graduate students for cybersecurity careers in the federal government.
Dr. McBride holds a PhD from La Trobe University (Australia), a Master of Global Management from Thunderbird/Arizona State University, and an MBA from Âé¶¹´«Ã½AV.

George Lake

George Lake is a Clinical Senior Instructor in the Energy Systems Technology and Education Center at Âé¶¹´«Ã½AV. He holds an A.A.S. degree in Electronics from the College of Eastern Idaho, a B.S. in Physics Education from Western Governors University, and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science.
He brings more than a decade of industry experience in control systems integration, including PLC and HMI programming, SCADA, and process automation. His teaching and research interests include computer science, artificial intelligence, industrial automation, and industrial cybersecurity. At ISU, George teaches in both the Electrical Engineering Technology and Industrial Cybersecurity programs, emphasizing hands-on, applied learning that connects directly to industry practice.
Outside the classroom, he enjoys golfing, hiking, kayaking, and exploring Idaho’s outdoors. He also spends time on personal technology projects, from building custom hardware to experimenting with new software and automation tools.
